THIS MONTH’S BIBLICAL THEME IS: God is a Promise Maker
Throughout Genesis, God continually made promises that affirmed His covenantal commitment to His people. Despite their repeated sin, God promised to send the ultimate Rescuer to save humanity and restore the perfect relationship that Adam and Eve shared with God in the garden.

Abraham’s Call (Genesis 12:1–9; 15:1–6; 17:1–8)
God called Abram to leave His home and go to a new land. God promised to bless Abram, to give him many descendants, and to give them a great land. God promised the whole earth would be blessed by this family. Abram obeyed and journeyed toward the land God had given him. God affirmed His covenant with Abram and said he would have as many descendants as the number of stars in the sky. Abram believed God’s promise.
God promised Abraham that He would bless all the people of the world through Abraham’s offspring. This promise was kept through Jesus! Jesus was from the family line of Abraham. He came to establish a new covenant by rescuing us from sin and restoring our relationship with God. The most important promise God makes to us is that He will have a relationship with us through Jesus.
